I decided at the last minute as a single traveler to join this tour; so glad I did! Learning about some of the connections between the Book of Mormon and the Inca and other ancient civilizations’ religion, teachings and temples was fascinating and lit a fire within to reread the Book of Mormon, this time with “I’ve been there” visualizations. I originally signed-on because Machu Picchu was on my bucket list, but that became secondary as I learned more each day about potential connections between the land, people, culture and Book of Mormon – which is simply another testament of Christ, but of his mission to the Lamanites and Nephites following his resurrection (John 10:16). Serving as a missionary in Peru, George and his companions spent their “P Days” exploring ruins, often connecting them to the descriptions in the scriptures which prompted him to write Nephi in the Promised Land. He was enthusiastic and a plethora of information. Some of our other experiences included dining at 13,000 ft whilst overlooking Lake Titicaca after meeting some of the delightful inhabitants of the lake’s floating islands, a gourmet cooking class (delicious ceviche), an “epic”urial 12-course meal at a bucolic country estate/resort which took us on a gastronomic journey through 12 of Peru’s regions, beautiful settings for other memorable meals (one was a stunning 17th century hacienda with an incredible & shocking history),learning the historical narrative of ancient peoples and land from an outstanding (and humorous) historian and anthropologist - this trip was more than I’d expected. George partners with Inka Traces in Peru and they are the best and most highly rated tour company there; Rudy Chalco, the owner and tour operator, is an expert in archaeology and history, proud of his Inca heritage and very familiar with the Church, so they were a dynamic duo! At 77 and having traveled to over 100 countries, I had high expectations. George and Rudy surpassed those expectations. One of my remaining bucket list items was to “see” Machu Picchu; thanks to them both, I celebrated 6 months cancer-free by climbing to the top. It was an unforgettable trip!

My husband and I just returned from a 10 day Peru trip this past Monday. It was an amazing experience! George is very knowledgeable and our tour guide Rudy was probably the best tour guide we have ever had anywhere! Each day was packed with unique experiences, boat, plane and train rides, nice hotels, good restaurants, museums, markets, and incredible archaeological sites. We visited an Alpaca farm, an orphanage, a crypt, a real Inca home, and a floating village! We would strongly recommend this tour to anyone, especially those of the LDS faith because so much of what we saw verifies facts found in the Book of Mormon. We would rate this tour a 5.

Rudy was absolutely the best tour guide anywhere! Knowledgeable, fun, kind, organized, efficient and everything else good. My husband and I are Besta bit older and had health and joint problems. He completely spoiled us and looked after our every need. Had the most fantastic tour of Peru. Would recommend Inca Traces to anyone!

This was definitely a first class tour of the major archaeological sites of Peru and how many of them may have a connection to the Book of Mormon. Our tour guide, Rudy, was kind, comprehensive, supportive, knowledgeable, always met us with a smile and able to manage any situation. The hotels and transportation were excellent! I would highy recommend this tour.

This was an amazing tour! I saw so many wonderful historical and cultural sites. The historical sites that we saw were very promising as possible sites for the Book of Mormon. There was never a dull moment. The hotels were clean and lovely with delicious breakfasts. We felt that we were truly on an expedition full of adventure. Our tour guide, Rudy, was top notch and a gentlemen.

We wish Rudy and Enrique every success in developing a featured tour to Peru. They earned a 5 Star rating for informative commentary, hotel and venue arrangements, comfortable travel, ambitious itinerary and genuine concern for individual guests and their health. A highlight of the cultural experience was the dinner catered by Rudy's wife. Although most of the trip focused on post Book of Mormon Inca history, legendary links to the Book of Mormon time period were compelling. I believe that anyone looking for potential Book of Mormon lands should include this trip along with their tours to Mesoamerica and the Heartland in order to make an informed comparison of the leading models for Book of Mormon geography in the Americas. Although the original location for the settlement of Nephites and Lamanites needs more study, the evidence for Christ in Peru is overwhelming.

I had never been to Peru, let alone South America, however, this tour was one of the best experiences I have ever had. First off, the tour guides, especially Rudy, were exceptional. There was not a single question they couldn't answer, and they added a significant amount of insight to the experience. My motivation for the tour was many fold. I wanted to see and experience the Peruvian culture, I wanted to see the history/ruins of the country, and I wanted to have a sense of where the background of the Book of Mormon was set, (Theoretically). I was more than satisfied on all accounts and totally amazed at what I learned and didn't know. We even had the opportunity to visit an orphanage and some really humble people who touched our hearts and spirit. This added an amazing balance to our total experience. The pictures and videos don't quite capture what you see and experience. Our group ranged from the ages of young teenagers to couples in their seventies and I believe we all got the same wonderful adventure experience, including an exceptional love for Peru and its people. I loved it and would recommend it to anyone.
