Your tour of Peru offers an unforgettable experience combining ancient Book of Mormon sites, Andean culture and breathtaking scenery. It begins in Lima (the Land of Desolation) with visits to the LDS Temple, the Gold Museum and the Historic Centre of Lima. The following day, you will explore of the mother civilization of all the Americas, Caral, the first home of the Jaredites. You will then travel south to the great temple at Pachacámac and the start of the “narrow neck of land.” The next day, you travel by boat and plane, seeing the famous “Tree of Life” geoglyph and flying over the enigmatic Nazca Lines (Bountiful). The journey continues to the capital of the Inca empire, Cusco (City of Nephi), where Sacsayhuaman, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu are explored. You will head south through the Andes to visit the ruins of Pukara (Zarahemla). On route you will stop at the temple to the white-god at Racqh’i and discuss the signs, tokens, and other aspects of Inca temple worship. Finally, the tour concludes with visits to the floating islands of Uros Indigenous people and Taquile Island in Lake Titicaca, offering a full immersion into Peru’s historical and cultural treasures.
